Why are we so constrained for time when we’re not really constrained for time?

At a recent music rehearsal, there was past expectations of taking only so much time to rehearse. Although there was no real reason to quit the rehearsal at a predetermined time, it was the expectation. And, while the music needed more rehearsal in order to be appropriate for the public, it was generally time to quit.

Someone said, “we have five minutes.”

I shake my head.

Why?
