On the road with Dean again today, once again in Trenton, MO. Last time in Trenton, I “officed” at McD’s. Free refills on drinks! Yea! Cool environment? Not horrible, lots of activity and nice, if you like that sort of thing. But, I wanted a different place today. Something a bit more comfortable. More vibe. Less fries. It can be a crap shoot sometimes., but, I head to the local public library to see what’s cooking.
The building is way cool. Stone. Large windows. Definitely old with charm. Looks well kept. I walk inside and wander around a bit. A library associate asks if I need help and I just say I’m looking for a place to do some work. He points me to several possible places and asks if I need to use the internet. I respond, “yes” and he has me sign up with a 5 hour slot.
I’m happy they have free WiFi! And the vibe? Well, definitely better than McD’s. And probably the best overall in my travels. Old wide oak floor that creaks a lot. Wood paneled trim and beams. I hate the lighting and the metal shelves, but, it’s pretty typical for a library. The librarians? Well, they aren’t exactly using “library voices” in here. I’ve already learned about lunch, what books are/aren’t on the shelves and about some vendor from Dallas who called. They seem pretty laid back, unlike most (apologies to Kiki and KB here, not that you are that way!) library staff.
So, away to work. Gracie stole my ear buds, so, my “entertainment” will be the library workers. Lots ‘o fun!
