So, it’s not been the best vacation ever. Lots of stuff happening. Feeling a bit of a failure. Didn’t spend a lot of time with the family because I had work to do. Didn’t get all my work done because I spend time with the family. Of course, my work isn’t life or death. But, it’s always time sensitive and, well, that’s not going so well. So, I was stuck. But that was the week. Today was the start of the weekend and mainly just family time.
So, we left Wyoming late. An hour and a half late. Then, just 3 minutes down the road, still not out of town, and I get a work duty to create a help document and turn in before the end of the day. Ok, Dean, your time to drive. I work while we shuttle down the road. Which was quite difficult. Not to mention, I needed internet connection a couple of times. So, stopping in random towns in Wyoming to find free internet… Not an easy task. Which was, very time costly.
Then we hit Denver in rush hour during a thunderstorm. A nice fun way to spend a couple of hours! Then, van issues. A couple of dash lites and a slipping transmission. In an interesting twist of fate (yeah, fate, that’s what it is!), we ran into the Trego family at Chipotle in Castle Rock, CO. They were just coming in to the reunion (forgot to mention we are/were headed to a family reunion in Divide, CO) from Montana. We couldn’t have even planned to get at Chipotle at the same time, well, they were 2 people behind us.
So, here I sit, waiting for Jason to come back down the mountain to pick us up and go back up the hill to the reunion. An interesting day. Actually, a bit of humorous relief after a week of personal stress.
It’s fun to be here. No, really, it is.
