Why do people dog the very thing they are a part of? Why do American’s bash America? I’m not the flag waving type, but, many of us, well, especially me, have no idea of just how good we have it. Is the USA the best it can be? Not hardly. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not the type that thinks we live in the greatest country ever. But come on…!
I generally think we feel we are entitled, and when things don’t go exactly the way we want them to, then we complain.
A meeting today yielded a similar attitude. I met with some students at Tabor College and one of the prevailing attitudes is a general negativity towards Tabor. Tabor this and Tabor that and wah wah wah… Ok, so I had some of the same thoughts when I was here as a student. And I’d love to go back and relive that experience. And maintain a completely different attitude.
A general sense of critical thinking is good in order to make something better. But, being hostile to the very thing you are a part of? Why not just change?
