I think I have ADD.

Not really, but, I do have a hard time focusing. I have a hard time picking. I have a hard time making a decision and then sticking with that decision. Not sure if I’m afraid of making the wrong decision or just thinking the grass MAY be greener…

I know, I know… I’ve written about his topic so many times you re getting tired of reading about it.

The issue also gets further complicated by the “hobby” world and the “real” world colliding all the time. I’m not sure which words are hobby and which are real.

I enjoy music. But even within that topic, there are so many subtopics. I enjoy playing music. If that’s so, then, I should be playing an instrument all the time. I should be rehearsing, even for the sake of “just” rehearsing. I love playing t-bone. But, I haven’t played in a long time. I love playing bass. But, I only play when it’s my week on worship team. I’d like to learn to play acoustic guitar as I think that’s something that I could easily pick up and play, even if just for a few minutes each day. But then, I talk myself out of that because 1). I don’t have a guitar 2). perhaps I should further my skills on bass and/or t-bone rather than picking up a new instrument. and 3). why would I spend $ on something new like that when I could buy a new saw…

What?

So, is my remodeling a hobby or real? The jury is still out on that. But even then, inside that whole thing there are many subtopics. Remodeling. Interior Design. Building handcrafted lights. Repurposing old items for new uses. Painting furniture for clients and/or just sale at a booth somewhere. So I could learn how to better refinish furniture or I could buy a new microphone…

What?

So, we’re back to THAT topic? Well, yeah. Sorta. So, then there’s the whole recording thing. I love music recording/production. I have several thousand $ invested in that area. In fact, I have more invested in that than any other music related area. So, why wouldn’t I try to further develop tat area… Well, where’s the market? Am I gonna post on craigslist “have recording gear, will travel”? Spend hundreds of hours recording garage bands and NOT getting paid for that? And then not have the exact gear, so, I spend more $ just to not get paid for using it? When I could be buying a new toilet?

What?

So, yeah, the whole remodeling our own house thing… Along the lines of doing this for “real”, but, really just a hobby. We lost $ on 2 houses. Made it back on one. And we are doomed to spend more than this current house is worth in a short amount of time. So, back into the red on house remodeling.

And then there’s:

Live Event Production
Small Business Consulting
Marketing and Communications
Website Creation

When I’m doing one thing, I generally think I should be doing the other. And when I’m doing nothing, well, then I’m just screwed.

See, I’m ok. I have this mid-life crisis thing figured out pretty well. Just drive oneself crazy.
