I was thinking this morning that Friday’s have tended to yield interesting things lately. Also, in that same vein, thinking how sometimes life changing events happen and even though you may or may not know it at the time, you feel like it’s life changing, yet, it’s not really that big of a deal, yet, ultimately it is. Is that a run-on sentence? Does that even make sense?
So, me being the creator of all things “scenario”, I had such an event last week. On Friday, of course. Something that could have been the start of one of those “life changing events.” And yet, it wasn’t that big of a deal. It’s in the “what I do” category.
And here it is, a Friday, thinking this, wondering what the path is for today. And then thinking that God will surely have something to say to me today thru Oswald. And He delivered in spades…
The title… “The Habit of Rising to the Occasion” Nice.
Not sure what NOT to include…
God is the Master Engineer, and He allows the difficulties to come in order to see if you can vault over them properly. Rise to the occasion; do the thing. It does not matter how it hurts as long as it gives God the chance to manifest Himself in your mortal flesh.
May God not find the whine in us any more, but may He find us full of spiritual pluck and athleticism, ready to face anything He brings, We have to exercise ourselves in order that the Son of God may be manifested in our mortal flesh. God never has museums.
The issue with this is the actual RISING part. Will I be able to? I rise in many areas, only to spread myself thin. I don’t think that’s the “rising” Oswald is talking about here! So, How can i get myself in that position? Honestly, I feel that I am taking steps in that direction. Good steps. And in some areas, I’m doing the “Byron thing” and letting fate take its course. If only I can get to the level as Oswald ens this thought.
The only aim of the life is that the Son of God may be manifested and all dictation to God vanishes. Our Lord never dictated to His Father and we are not here to dictate to God; we are here to submit to His will so that He may work through us in what He wants. When we realize this, He will make us broken bread and poured-out wine to feed and nourish others.
