Chambers strikes again…
I tend to find myself falling into the trap of our Western society in thinking that I need to be useful to God. I need to use my time and talents for HIm. And if I am unsuccessful in where I am, then I need to find THE place God would have me. So, we as people, set out on a journey asking God the big questions, where would You have me go and what should I DO?
I’ve struggled with that concept because it feel fake. It feels oh so influenced by our society and the pressures of worldly success. So, how do we answer that question? Today’s Utmost says:
Jesus never measured His life by how or where He was of the greatest use. God places His saints where they will bring the most glory to Him, and we are totally incapable of judging where that may be.
Perhaps my intuitions have been correct. Still, the pressure of what we call “success” markedly influences my response to that.
