There are times when I put things off… say it isn’t so Byron! Not sure why I don’t act immediately… As I drove in this morning, I thought about that. I think I don’t act immediately because at the time, I’m bus doing something else, so, I want to get whatever it is I’m working on finished before I move on. At least that’s what I tell myself! Unfortunately, when that task is completed or when I have the time, I still don’t react immediately. Character flaw.
However, that has often worked out to my benefit. There are many times where waiting is actually advantageous. Often times I’ve been asked, “hey, did you do that thing that I asked you to?” And my reply is, obviously, “not yet.” Then the response, “Good! What I need you to do has now changed.” So, I win for procrastinating! Ok, that shouldn’t actually be a life mantra. In fact, procrastinating has burned me more than helped me. However, it’s fun to think that by not responding immediately, I actually am doing the right thing.
And, as a side note here, there are times when procrastinating IS actually a good thing. When life is all not well, rather than getting all bent out of shape, just letting some time go by tends to “heal” the situation…a good thing.
So, rather than blogging right now, I should be doing about 4 other things. However, during this blog, I have been torn away several times causing me to take hours to actually finish this entry. And so it goes…
