What does one say the day of his mother’s burial?

The past two days have been quite incredible. The numbers of well wishers coming by to offer condolences has been overwhelming. Definitely a testament to my mom’s life. Seems like I should be able to write some eloquent thoughts to honor my mom. Don’t exactly know what to say.

One friend remarked, “your Mother embodied gospel intentionality.”

Another friend remarked at how consistent stories have been about my mom.

And yet another at how special she made each person feel, as if they were the most special person in the world. How does that make you feel when she did the same for everyone? Ultimately, the special person was Wanda. And as someone else said, “thanks for sharing your mom with me for a time!”

Wanda was a mother to the world. And as was spoken of her today, no doubt she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus with the words, “well done, good and faithful servant.”

It’s an honor being her son.

In sharing my mom with so many, I have so many siblings to share my life with.

I pray that I too can be the Jesus she was to so many.
