So, definitely an interesting dream last night…
I was headed to an audio conference in Evans, Indiana (I know, there isn’t even an Evans, IN, and yes, I know there’s an Evansville, but, it was Evans. Ok?!). Apparently I had packed my bags and needed to make it to the airport. And, apparently I didn’t have a car or any friends to take me there. And, apparently I lived out in the middle of nowhere in Western Kansas because I started walking and was on a dusty gravel road. Are you with me so far?
As I was walking I noticed a strangely dressed gentleman who had crossed the road in front of me. He seemed a little aloof as he didn’t even acknowledge me. I uttered some word of greeting to which he replied. I found it extremely hard to understand him through his very thick British accent. During our conversation, I realized he was dressed in vintage aviators garb and that he had just come from his airplane, sitting on a grass airstrip in the field to my right.
The airplane was WW1 vintage, 4 seat, open cockpit. Interesting. Through the course of our conversation, with limited understanding, he offered to fly me Indiana in his plane. Very cool! I was somewhat apprehensive to take a flight in that airplane, but, I figured he had arrived in it safely, certainly it’s flight worthy!
I hadn’t seen or heard the plane arrive, so, perhaps the plane had been sitting there since WW1!
Unfortunately, as many of my dreams go, the scene is set, but don’t get to enjoy the flight. The dream ended there. Not sure what ensued. But I’m alive today. And the audio conference? Not sure it ever happened…
